Documents Required for the Active Duty Military Application

These are required documents for this property. Please review the list as you are preparing to submit your application.

STEP 1: Complete the MHO Referral

*Information is subject to change

Once you are ready to apply with Nellis Family Housing, you must complete a Military Housing Office (MHO) referral. You can complete a referral by downloading and completing the Nellis MHO Housing Application located at the top of the following website: www.housing.af.mil/Home/Installations/Nellis-AFB/ under "Links & Docs". Once completed, all forms with official orders can be emailed to 99CES.CEIH.HousingManagement@us.af.mil. You may also visit in person at 4601 Richard Kisling Drive (Welcome Center - window on the right).

Should you need to contact the MHO to follow up on your paperwork or have general questions regarding your application/eligibility, they can be reached at (702) 652-1840 (Mon - Fri, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM PST; Offices close at 1:00 PM on Wednesdays).

The MHO will issue a referral as soon as all necessary documents are received in their office. Eligibility date is determined by RNLTD and PDD.

STEP 2: Begin the HMC Application

After Hunt receives and reviews your MHO referral, you will receive a welcome email from Hunt notifying you of your referral approval and with instructions on the next steps.

Begin the Hunt Military Communities Application by visiting Nellis Family Housing.com, selecting prospective residents, and then application. Click "apply now" and choose active-duty to log into the application portal or register for a new account.

THE APPLICATION PORTAL MAY NOT BE SUPPORTED ON GOVERNMENT COMPUTERS OR MOBILE DEVICES. A NON-GOVERNMENT DESKTOP COMPUTER IS RECOMMENDED FOR A SMOOTHER EXPERIENCE.

STEP 3: Gather the Documents Needed & Submit Your HMC Application

  • All applicants must provide proof of Assignment Date with Hard Orders.
  • All applicants must present a Current Leave Earning Statement (LES) to confirm current rank.
  • If all dependents (spouse/kids) are not listed on orders, you must provide the following documents:
    • Marriage certificate or DD1172
    • Birth certificates for every person under 18
    • *If all dependents are listed on your orders, no additional documents are needed.
  • If you have pets, you must provide all of the following:
    • Shot records of each pet
    • Photo of each pet
  • If you are filing the information on behalf of your active-duty spouse, you need a power of attorney (POA).
  • If you are dual-military, you must provide orders and a current LES for both members. One family member must be on another's orders; if not, you will need to provide a marriage certificate or DD1172.

STEP 4: Waitlist Placement

Once Hunt approves your application and receives your MHO referral, you will be placed on a waitlist for homes that you qualify for until you are offered a home. You will receive confirmation once you are placed on the waitlist and will be able to track your position via the HUNT Application Portal. Please keep in mind that due to a fluid waitlist, your position may change at any time depending upon your eligibility date. A home offer will not be made until your position comes up on the waitlist and we have a home available to offer.
